Role Purpose

To serve as the single point of contact for piping deliverables and activities, defining piping design bases, codes, standards, and solutions that are safe, reliable, and cost-effective. This role interfaces with clients and stakeholders, coordinates with multi-disciplinary teams, mentors engineers, and ensures quality and schedule adherence for piping deliverables across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Engineer piping systems, supports, routing, isometrics, stress analysis, and related components.
• Develop and review piping design basis, piping material specifications, datasheets, and technical bid evaluations.
• Perform and supervise piping stress analyses, thermal expansion, pipe routing optimization, and vibration considerations.
• Develop standard deliverables, various datasheets, and requisition packages related to piping.

Standards & Compliance

• Define piping design bases, codes, standards, and deliverables to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards and project-specific requirements.

Technical Review & Approval

• Review and approve technical deliverables (isometrics, P&IDs, BOMs, MOC/Change Notes, design change requests, technical queries).

Material & Procurement

• Provide in-depth technical support for material selection involving metallic, GRE, and HDPE piping systems.
• Participate in material selection and corrosion review sessions to ensure suitable materials for service conditions.
• Conduct vendor qualification, technical bid evaluation, and factory audits.

Non-Metallic & Specialized Systems

• Provide experience in non-metallic piping stress analysis and procurement.

Change Management & Quality

• Understand the MOC process and employ effective change management throughout the lifecycle of the project.
• Mentor engineers, drive quality, and ensure schedule adherence for piping deliverables across project phases.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Interface with client and other stakeholders for successful execution of the project.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (process, mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation) and vendors to ensure integrated piping systems.

Offshore Operations

• Travel to ADNOC offshore on a rotational basis to conduct site surveys, support brownfield assessments, verify existing installations, and obtain project-specific engineering data necessary for design and execution.

Knowledge Management & Reporting

• Contribute to Lesson Learnt from the Project.
• Report to Department Manager/Lead Engineer for the project.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor or Master of Engineering in a related field.
• 12 or more years of experience in Concept, FEED and Detail Engineering and EPCM experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience in Middle East clients such as ADNOC and Qatar Energies, highly preferred.
• Familiarity with offshore facilities and experience in carrying out Greenfield and Brownfield Projects.
• Site experience required for offshore.
• Experience working with multicultural project teams across various project execution centers.
• Familiarity with international piping codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, ASTM, API, and NACE MR0175/ISO 15156.
• Professional membership or relevant certifications (e.g., PE/Chartered Engineer) are a plus.
• Certification related to piping design or stress analysis is advantageous.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Strong background in piping design, engineering, stress analysis, and support design.
• Proficiency with piping design software and calculation tools (e.g., CAESAR, AutoPIPE and 3D modeling tools).
• Technical experience to prepare manhours estimation for different types of piping activities and deliverables of different phases of the project including Select phase, FEED and Execution.
• Hands-on knowledge of codes and standards relevant to piping.
• Experience with high-pressure piping, thermal insulation, coatings, and corrosion considerations.
• Diverse working experience in project management, conceptual, FEED and detailed design, and construction.
• Knowledge of interdisciplinary work processes, interfaces, and deliverables.
• Familiarity with codes, standards, regulations and practices applicable to the design and construction of various facilities.
• Responsible for the training and development of engineers in team.
• Adherence to company processes and procedures and handle internal and external project audits.

Additional Information

• Preference will be given to candidates holding valid OPITO-approved T-BOSIET/BOSIET and H₂S certifications with a minimum validity of six months.
• Selected candidate will be required to travel to ADNOC offshore on a rotational basis.
