Senior Piping Designer

Role Overview

Senior Piping Designer at KBR Corporate, based in Iraq.

Role Purpose

Execute piping design activities across Concept, FEED (Front-End Engineering Design), and Detail Engineering phases for Oil & Gas projects. Ensure high-quality, safe, and timely delivery of piping design and related deliverables in accordance with project requirements, international codes, and standards. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers while coordinating with multi-discipline teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities

Design Execution

• Independently perform piping design scope drawings for Concept, FEED, and Detail Engineering phases.
• Independently develop complex piping designs, equipment layouts, plot plans, and general arrangement drawings.
• Prepare plot plans, key plans, piping GA, and other piping deliverables.
• Utilize advanced 3D modeling software including PDMS, E3D, SP3D, or AutoCAD Plant 3D to create detailed models and generate isometric drawings.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards and project specifications.
• Ensure engineering integrity, quality assurance, and document control for all piping-related deliverables.
• Review and provide comments on vendor drawings to ensure compatibility with the overall design.

Field & Site Support

• Conduct site visits to verify and collect field data and assess project conditions.
• Support field execution and construction activities as needed, including site visits when required and as-built documentation.

Team & Continuous Improvement

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, toolbox talks, and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 15+ years of proven track record in delivering onshore and offshore piping deliverables in Concept, FEED, and Detail Engineering and EPCM experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Previous ADNOC EPC experience and familiarity with ADNOC procedures and requirements is highly preferred.
• Experience with ARAMCO, Qatar Energies, PDO, or KOC is also preferred.
• Experience in Production Facilities, Well Pads & Pipelines, CPF, Production Platforms, and Gas Plants.
• Minimum Diploma or ITI in Piping and Mechanical Design.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in relevant 2D and 3D software including PDMS, E3D, SP3D, or AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Strong knowledge of drafting standards and industry applicable norms.
• Proficiency in relevant codes and standards.
• Experience with 3D design and visualization tools and 2D drafting.
