Role Overview

Senior Medical Advisor Immuno-Oncology at Bristol Myers Squibb, based in Riyadh. This position is part of the Medical Affairs Team and provides a bridge between clinical research and the cross-functional Brand Team.

Role Purpose

The Senior Medical Advisor Immuno-Oncology is responsible for planning and executing scientific projects related to medical communication and education. This role is accountable for developing, maintaining, and sharing immuno-oncology-related medical and scientific capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

External Environment and Customer Focus

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with scientific experts and thought leaders and external organizations in therapeutic areas of interest using various channels including one-to-one meetings, group presentations, and virtual meetings.
• Actively profile the medical landscape and continuously update knowledge and expertise in products, patient treatment trends, unmet medical needs, clinical trials, and scientific activities.
• Understand the competitive landscape and actively prepare to address informational needs of customers.
• Collect and provide meaningful medical insights back to the organization to be actioned in support of strategy development.
• Set up strong scientific collaborations with scientific experts and thought leaders.
• Effectively develop content and present information to healthcare professionals, as appropriate, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with local procedures, ethical and legal guidelines and directives.

Medical Planning and Execution

• Deliver scientifically meaningful medical program proposals and ensure flawless execution of medical activities to support overarching medical plan execution, such as advisory boards, satellite symposia, and scientific roundtables.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration within matrix teams to ensure appropriate embedding of the medical perspective and aligned focus in key critical execution to achieve overall medical strategies and objectives.
• Provide significant knowledge and insight to head office medical teams (local, regional, and worldwide) and local commercial organization to shape strategy.
• Proactively coach others on how they can enhance their scientific skills in this area.
• Discuss and deliver Health Economics and Outcomes Research evidence-based information reactively to government agencies, healthcare organizations, and payers, as appropriate.
• Represent medical as a key reference point for internal stakeholders for Neuroscience.

Compliance

• Endorse and implement a culture of compliance.
• Adhere to all internal and external rules and regulations.
• Alert management or the Compliance Department to any possible compliance issues.
• Act as a role model who demonstrates consistent ethical and professional behavior.

Qualifications & Experience

• Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, or MD).
• Working in a medical or scientific role with 5 or more years' experience.
• Expert knowledge of Immuno-Oncology.
• Expert experience in the Immuno-Oncology healthcare environment in KSA.
• Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data in an understandable and valuable manner to help healthcare professionals best serve their patients.
• Ability to develop and effectively manage new and existing healthcare professional relationships.
• Experience developing field medical plans aligned with medical and overall disease and product objectives.

• High level of scientific acumen, including the ability to interpret and present clinical data and effectively draw out clinical insights during dialogue with healthcare professionals.

• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
