Role Overview
Senior Manager, Market Access Lead at Bristol Myers Squibb, Saudi Arabia. This role reports to the Regional Director of Market Access and Government Affairs for Saudi Arabia and Gulf Countries.

Role Purpose
The Market Access Lead supports the achievement of BMS business goals by setting the country's Market Access Plan, planning and executing value-based solutions, and supporting the creation of a nation-wide customer-centric approach. The ultimate objective is to establish BMS as the preferred partner of choice by providing key insights regarding pricing, enlisting, insurance and market access to influence and drive full portfolio value differentiation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Own access strategy, execution, and formulary enlisting of BMS products and approved indications across all hospitals and institutions in Saudi Arabia.
- Develop BMS strategy in hospitals within BMS ethics and rules based on customer needs and pressures.
- Develop, implement and execute innovative strategic and tactical access plans.
- Work closely with Saudi cross-functional teams to agree on hospital and area value communication and product enlisting strategy.
- Identify opportunities and barriers for BMS therapy areas through deep customer insights and local knowledge and execute tactics against monthly market access plans.
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationships
- Build strong working relationships with key external and internal stakeholders to fully understand payer challenges and concerns in a complex access environment.
- Communicate scientific and economic value of BMS products to all relevant external stakeholders.
- Work closely with key customers across different hospitals, institutions, pharmacists, and central tender bodies to ensure favorable access for approved indications.
- Work with key government and non-government organizations, Associations, Societies, and Patient Advocacy Groups to enhance mutual understanding and develop stakeholder engagement strategies that drive strategic business agendas.
- Partner with Pricing, PSP, HEOR colleagues and Government Affairs & Communications manager on stakeholder engagement strategies.
Market Monitoring & Intelligence
- Monitor all changes concerning the access environment and competitor pricing.
- Update the commercial team regularly on market access developments.
- Continuously monitor local health economies and make timely recommendations to ensure plans remain optimal.
- Demonstrate capacity to acquire scientific information.
- Seek out new information and learn quickly with ability to absorb new concepts, analyze data and ask insightful questions to make effective decisions.
Operations & Execution
- Maximize business opportunities for BMS products in all sectors in Saudi Arabia.
- Ensure resources allocated to market access activities are prioritized appropriately and deployed effectively in line with both brand plan and local geography plan.
- Effectively implement market access elements of the geography plan, including regular progress reviews and adherence to defined metrics.
- Provide timely feedback to cross-functional teams regarding Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committees (PTCs) meetings and Formulary Management.
Integration & Alignment
- Ensure full integration and alignment of Market Access function with Marketing, Medical and Regulatory.
- Display superior strategic negotiation and communication skills.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a Pharmaceutical or Medical field.
- Business School degree or MBA is preferred.
- 6+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience within competitive biopharma.
- 6+ years of market access experience in a multinational pharmaceutical organization.
- Successful product launches, working on the full access value chain.
- Experience with formulary inclusions and enlisting in Saudi Arabia.
- Experience of working with Thought Leaders and experts in their field.
- Broad and in-depth understanding of local issues relative to the Saudi pharmaceutical industry.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully and effectively build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and execute innovative strategic and tactical access plans.
- Good understanding of the Saudi marketplace, dynamics and trends.
Skills & Competencies
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Effective negotiation, communication and presentation skills with the ability to create energy and excitement.
- Excellent command of oral and written English and Arabic.
- Ability to flex across different types of cultures, complexities, business situations and matrix partners.
- Proven history of seeking out new information and learning quickly.
