Role Overview
Senior Manager – Commercial at Majid Al Futtaim, MAF Retail, Head Office UAE.
Role Purpose
Establish and execute category sourcing strategies, lead cross-functional strategic sourcing and merchandizing teams, manage supplier relationships, and drive category profitability and promotional calendar execution across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Category Management
- Establish category sourcing strategies and lead cross-functional strategic sourcing and merchandizing teams.
- Define country strategic merchandise and assortment through product.
- Define and implement selection of assortment, definition of category profitability, and promotional national calendar.
- Help develop long-term country strategies and significantly influence cross-company project development.
Supplier Management
- Manage and negotiate with suppliers to execute contracts and optimize opportunities.
- Manage category suppliers to act as a market intelligence provider regarding categories.
- Anticipate strategic opportunities and keep key stakeholders informed.
- Drive category suppliers' activities to mitigate risk, improve performance and add value.
Omnichannel Alignment
- Ensure online assortment and selection is available and matches offline assortment and selection to provide a similar customer experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in E-Commerce or Business Administration.
- Master's degree in E-Commerce or Supply Chain (preferred).
- 7 – 10 years of working experience in either category management or merchandise.
- E-commerce experience required.
