Role Overview
Senior Manager - Airfield Design at Dubai Airports, located in Dubai. This role leads the planning and design of airfield infrastructure within the Strategy and Development group.

Role Purpose
Lead the planning, design, and technical oversight of runways, taxiways, aircraft stands, GSE roads, and associated airside infrastructure. Translate strategic direction into safe, efficient, and future-ready airfield solutions that meet regulatory requirements and optimize operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Design
- Lead the planning and design of runways, taxiways, aircraft stands, GSE roads, and associated airside infrastructure.
- Apply innovative thinking and challenge conventional approaches to achieve safe, efficient, and future-ready airfield solutions.
- Operate within the applicable regulatory framework.
Technical Direction & Engineering Oversight
- Lead technical direction and engineering oversight throughout concept, preliminary, and detailed design stages.
- Promote innovative solutions to optimize operational performance and design excellence.
- Conduct engineering design reviews and ensure compliance with ICAO and GCAA standards, regulations, and requirements.
Risk Management
- Ensure proactive identification, evaluation, and mitigation of engineering and operational risks that may impact Airfield Design Development projects.
Stakeholder Management
- Advise, manage, and communicate technical requirements to stakeholders.
- Translate complex technical, operational, and safety risks into clear reports, executive briefings, and stakeholder presentations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Airport Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or closely related discipline.
- 5–7 years of relevant airfield design experience.
- 7–10 years of overall experience.
- Post graduate qualification in Airport Engineering.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in airfield engineering design principles, operational safety, regulatory compliance (GCAA/ICAO), and airport capacity optimization.
- Strong technical knowledge in airport master planning and design of runways, taxiways, aircraft stands, and GSE roads.
- Proven experience in engineering design reviews, design assurance, aircraft compatibility assessments, and airfield safeguarding compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and engineering judgment skills.
- Technical knowledge of airfield design, simulation, and drafting tools including Transoft AviPLAN Airside Pro and Bentley MicroStation/AutoCAD.
- Ability to evaluate complex engineering solutions.
