Senior Logistics Manager at AtkinsRealis, responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all logistical aspects of construction projects to ensure smooth site operations.

Role Purpose
The Senior Logistics Manager ensures efficient, safe, and well-organized site operations throughout the project lifecycle by managing material and equipment delivery, storage, and distribution; organizing site access and traffic flow; and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while working closely with project teams, suppliers, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Performance & Operations
- Deliver site-wide logistics through the procurement of a site-wide Logistics management contractor.
- Define and monitor the scope of services delivery through setting and monitoring of measurable goals and objectives.
- Oversee orderly, safe and efficient movement of labour, plant, and materials around site.
- Create a secure, well-maintained site with regular logistics meetings.
- Manage efficient and orderly worker accommodation.
- Develop processes, procedures and induction programmes.
- Manage supply chain, movement plans and lookahead forecasting.
- Ensure logistics activities do not constrain the program.
- Create site-specific safety manual with appropriate first aid cover and equipment.
- Develop, maintain and update the Site Emergency Plan.
- Plan effective signage in line with corporate branding.
- Manage efficient use of any special public access roads, including access to show houses and sales pavilions.
- Provision an effective security management system.
Change Management
- Review variations and adjustments to Logistics Contractor scope and assess impacts.
- Monitor construction change management process via the Engineer.
Permitting
- Oversee the Logistics Contractor's acquisition of all necessary permits for smooth logistics operations.
Cost Management
- Review completeness of established budgets and cost plans.
- Ensure work is re-measured and signed off in accordance with contract.
Planning
- Develop monthly detailed graphical time slice showing plot and infrastructure activities and how logistics will support.
- Review weekly plans and confirm activities are accurate and coordinated across stakeholders.
Risk Management
- Review detailed risk register developed by logistics contractor and team coordinated with all site stakeholders.
- Complete implementation of mitigation plans.
Interface & Coordination
- Provide coordination across all programme consultants and stakeholders related to logistics works.
- Provide support to plots in terms of external access and influences that impact plot activities.
Communication
- Highlight issues and concerns through regular meetings.
- Roll out weekly directions to stakeholder team managers.
- Seek resolution to issues with respective plot, infrastructure or logistics teams or escalate with proposed mitigation plan.
Reporting & Assurance
- Report weekly issues through detailed logistics dashboards.
- Submit checklists of all logistics contractor self-audits including QA, Safety, Environmental and Welfare.
- Review and report on audit status.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management or Real Estate Development.
- Chartership preferred.
- More than 15 years as a sitewide Logistics expert in management of complex, matrixed team environments across multiple cultures.
- Prior Abu Dhabi projects experience mandatory, including Hospitality, Mixed use, and Residential projects.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Skills & Competencies
- CSCS certification.
- SMSTS/SSSTS qualification.
- Recognized safety programme qualification, current and up to date.
- First Aid certification.
- Lifting Supervisor Certification.
- Traffic management expertise.
