Senior IT Pillar Specialist - S3D

Role Overview

Senior IT Pillar Specialist - S3D, McDermott, supporting Hexagon S3D projects and administration.

Role Purpose

Provide comprehensive administrative support for Hexagon S3D projects, including setup, configuration, and day-to-day operations. Manage project deliverable delivery, analyze solutions using standard procedures, and build organizational knowledge of processes and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Customization

• Lead S3D Catalog Creation activities.
• Develop Piping Specs and Catalog with deep understanding of piping rules.
• Create Equipment, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Structure Catalogs.
• Develop Symbol Creation standards.
• Execute Isometric Customization across project requirements.
• Customize Piping Isometric configurations including label creation.
• Establish View Style Creation protocols.
• Build GA drawings view styles for Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Structural disciplines.

Reporting

• Lead Reports Creation activities.
• Demonstrate extensive report creation abilities using COM.
• Execute report creation using VB.Net/C# where applicable.
• Maintain in-depth understanding of S3D Interfaces and class relationships.

Custom Development

• Create Custom Commands using C# and VB.Net.

Administration & Setup

• Execute S3D Setup activities including database restoration, Permission Groups configuration, and system hierarchy establishment.
• Manage GWC configuration with hands-on expertise.
• Configure Interference setup and codeless interference rules.
• Create Naming Rules for system standardization.
• Develop filters, surface style rules, and review files including SPR and Navisworks outputs.
• Manage SQL and Oracle Servers and Databases.

Resolution & Optimization

• Troubleshoot Designer issues with extensive hands-on experience.
• Develop best practices for modeling procedures.
• Build modelling expertise to support project teams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5-15 years' experience in S3D Administration.
• Working knowledge of business units or processes supported by the application.
• In-depth understanding of Aveva 3D or other Smartplant tools.
• Hands-on experience with S3D Setup activities including database restoration, Permission Groups, and system hierarchy configuration.
• Hands-on experience with Interference setup and codeless interference rules.
• Hands-on experience in creating Naming Rules.
• Hands-on experience creating filters, surface style rules, and review files such as SPR and Navisworks.
• Knowledge of AVEVA Engineering and AVEVA Net/AIM is an added advantage.

• Good understanding of engineering practices and project execution concepts.
• Proficiency with current systems technology, tools, and processes.
• Ability to conduct functional testing of the application.
• Complete understanding of data use, processes, and application output.
• Extensive knowledge of S3D Interfaces and class relationships.
• Proficiency with COM for report creation.
• Proficiency with C# and VB.Net for report and custom command creation.
• GWC configuration expertise.
• SQL and Oracle Server and Database management capability.
• In-depth knowledge of modelling procedures and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Good communication skills.
