Senior iOS Engineer

Role Overview

Ziina is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to join our team in the UAE. We are looking for someone to help build engaging new features, shape our engineering organization, and deliver high-quality products that keep our users' funds safe.

Role Purpose

To design, build, and own end-to-end iOS features that are reliable, scalable, and maintainable. You will take features from design through implementation, polish, shipping, monitoring and measurement. You will also improve mobile developer experience and help shape our engineering culture through introducing good practices and knowledge-sharing.

Key Responsibilities

Feature Development & Ownership

• Collaborate with world-class product, design, operations, and engineering teams to determine which features and solutions will deliver the most value for the business and the best experience for users.
• Own and ship end-to-end reliable, scalable, and maintainable software that keeps our users' funds safe and stands the test of time.
• Take features from design, to implementation, to polish, to shipping, to monitoring and measuring progress.

Architecture & Infrastructure

• Design and build a modern architecture that enables our team to build, test, and ship new features quickly.
• Improve mobile developer experience to reduce time-to-market for new features.

Culture & Leadership

• Help shape our engineering culture by introducing good practices and methods of knowledge-sharing.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years of experience building iOS applications.
• Strong background in Swift and/or SwiftUI.
• Demonstrated high integrity and team-first mindset.
• Ownership mentality with strong bias toward action.
• Ability to bring clarity and structure to ambiguous problems.
• Curious, proactive, and eager to learn and grow.
• Clear communication and effective collaboration across teams.
• Ability to define and articulate technical and design requirements.
• Based in, or open to relocating to, the UAE.

Skills & Competencies

• Write clean, high-quality, testable, and well-documented code.
• Think analytically with strong data-driven decision-making and customer focus.
• Track record of working on apps that process financial transactions (nice to have).
• Experience with MVVM architectures (nice to have).
• Proven ability to ship and maintain apps at scale (nice to have).
• Confidence in tackling tough bugs, concurrency issues, and persistence challenges (nice to have).
