Senior HSES Tech(HSES Administrator)

Role Overview

Senior HSES Tech (HSES Administrator) at McDermott. The role completes various HSES assignments with limited supervision and serves as an informal resource for colleagues with less HSES experience.

Role Purpose

Provide technical health, safety, environment, and security solutions to support compliance, incident prevention, and safe operations across the organization. The role handles both routine and atypical situations, applying existing precedents and procedures to solve problems.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Regulatory

• Provide technical assistance to ensure compliance with applicable international, federal, state, and company environmental, safety, and health regulations.
• Remain conversant with local and international HSES laws, codes, and regulations.

Program Development & Administration

• Serve as a resource to develop and administer a proactive prevention program for incidents.
• Implement the HSES Activity plan and ensure activities are completed as scheduled.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of HSES information.
• Update and maintain HSES database and platform.

Inspections & Observations

• Conduct HSES inspections as directed.
• Regularly inspect work areas to identify unsafe acts or conditions.
• Observe the condition of plant and equipment and report deficiencies.
• Observe work groups and provide guidance and coaching to personnel to perform work safely.

Incident & Emergency Response

• Assist with incident investigations and compilation of reports.
• Assist with medical evacuations and respond to emergencies as required.

Training & Communication

• Assist in the delivery and observation of toolbox talks and Job Safety Analyses.
• Provide guidance and coaching to personnel on safe work practices.

Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of HSES Statistics Reports.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or equivalent certification.
• 3–4 years of relevant HSES experience.
• Experience with technical activities.

Skills & Competencies

• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain positive team relationships.
• Communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.
• Maintain key competencies associated with the HSES function.
