Senior Engineer, Reservoir Management

Role Overview

Senior Engineer, Reservoir Management at ADNOC. The role provides expert reservoir engineering input to multidisciplinary projects and leads reservoir management studies, performance review, and optimization.

Role Purpose

Deliver specialized reservoir engineering expertise to field development planning, reservoir performance analyses, and production/injection capacity estimation. Lead reservoir management studies and implement optimization techniques to maximize profitable recovery in line with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Field Development & Management

• Carry out all aspects of reservoir management activities including field development, performance evaluation, reservoir and asset evaluation, well prognosis, and supervise integration between fields.
• Govern field production and injection capacities according to company objective guidelines, drilling workover schedules, and identify mitigations in case of shortfalls.
• Design and lead efforts to improve well sector and full field development performance review.

Reservoir Engineering & Optimization

• Identify, justify, develop and implement workflows to evaluate and manage the field in line with industry best practices.
• Use advanced reservoir engineering techniques and integrate dynamic and static data to identify field movement and implement optimization plans.
• Identify workflows to carry out pattern balancing and ensure efficient production and injection processes.
• Provide expertise to identify and support reservoir engineering studies using appropriate techniques, which may include reservoir simulation, material balance, and decline curve analysis.

Surveillance & Testing Programs

• Design and lead implementation of project surveillance programs including pressure transient surveys, tracer surveys, interference testing, observation well placement, and cased hole logging programs.

Operations & Processes

• Implement approved Section and Department policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures in line with Company and International standards.
• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency and intelligent solutions in line with best industry standards.

Team Leadership & Development

• Plan, supervise, and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills to enable proficiency and delivery of section objectives.

Budget & Financial Management

• Provide input for preparation of functional budgets and assist in implementation of approved budget and work plans to deliver section objectives.
• Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Governance & Reporting

• Contribute to achievement of approved performance objectives for the function in line with the Company performance framework.
• Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for management.

Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability

• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, and controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices, and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Stakeholder Management

• Maintain contact with line manager, peers, and other employees within the company and group as required.
• Engage with external parties including consultants, third-party service providers, and government agencies as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor degree in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in reservoir engineering including oil and gas fields development management and full field simulation studies using hardware and software models.

Skills & Competencies

• Advanced reservoir engineering techniques.
