Senior Engineer, Maintenance

Role Overview

Senior Engineer, Maintenance at ADNOC. The role is based at the employer's facility and reports to the Manager, Operations.

Role Purpose

Develop and ensure effective implementation of electrical and instrument maintenance programs to improve technical and operational safety, integrity and reliability of the assets and to minimize downtime of the facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning & Program Development

• Develop, review, and optimize maintenance programs for Electrical & Instrument equipment and systems through RCM, FMECA and other structured tools to improve plant availability, equipment integrity and minimize cost.
• Prepare major shutdown maintenance programs for Electrical & Instrument equipment and systems and integrate activities within plant major shutdown plans.
• Support in resolving chronic Electrical and Instrument problems through different methodologies of Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Review existing maintenance practices and support implementation of innovative and modern methodologies to improve productivity and equipment performance.

Maintenance Execution & Technical Support

• Develop and implement maintenance execution performance assurance programs with regards to Electrical & Instrument equipment and systems and identify and implement improvement action plans.
• Prepare scope of work, conduct technical evaluation, establish contracts and service orders, prepare method statements, and manage execution of troubleshooting and major planned maintenance activities.
• Provide professional expertise in the technological up-gradation of obsolete Electrical & Instrument systems including assessment, scope preparation and execution of upgradation and modification works in existing facilities.
• Ensure timely identification and availability of tools and critical spare parts required to maintain safe plant and production availability at optimized cost.
• Provide technical support for development, implementation, and commissioning of new projects to optimize costs and ensure compliance with applicable standards and best practices.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Drive the adoption of AI tools such as predictive maintenance programs for Electrical & Instrument equipment and systems to ensure power and control equipment and systems reliability.
• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Supervision & Team Development

• Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budget & Cost Management

• Provide input for preparation of the Department and Section budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
• Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Compliance & Performance Management

• Implement approved Department and Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Department and Section's work programs in line with Company and International standards.
• Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.
• Comply with relevant Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) policies, procedures and controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
• Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Reporting & Communications

• Provide inputs to prepare Section Management Information and progress reports for Company Management.
• Report directly to Manager, Operations with regular interface with Operations Manager and discipline specialist staff on all field related issues including Operations and Maintenance activities, Assets Integrity, Facilities Reliability, Implementation of technical standards and guidelines and maintaining field set KPIs.
• Interact daily with VP - Operations and team members on the ongoing operations and projects.
• Interface and coordinate with ADNOC Group companies for interface operations and to share best practices for field management and best work practices.
• Contact with consultants and contractors on projects carried out for Al Dhafra, as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Instrument Engineering or equivalent Professional Qualification.
• 8 to 12 years of experience in maintenance activities for electrical and instrument equipment within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
• Knowledge of the Oil and Gas Industry.
• Excellent knowledge of site workflows and plant processes.

Skills & Competencies

• Interface Operations and coordination, troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Conversance with KPIs and ability to support their delivery and attainment at all times.
• Working experience with Maximo, SAP, or CMMS systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Very good knowledge of verbal and written English. Knowledge of Arabic is preferable.
• Good IT Skills.
• Willingness to work and foster good working relationships in an integrated team from diverse locations.
