Senior Electrical Engineer – Operations and Maintenance

Role Overview

Senior Electrical Engineer – Operations and Maintenance with Wood PLC, a full-time position based in Sharjah, UAE. The role provides electrical engineering expertise to site-based teams by performing and reviewing complex or non-routine electrical engineering calculations and analyses. Reports to the Operations Engineering Manager.

Role Purpose

To provide electrical engineering expertise and technical leadership to support operations and maintenance activities across complex oil and gas facilities. The role ensures alignment of inspection, testing, maintenance and condition monitoring tasks with technical equipment strategies while leading resolution of complex, multi-discipline technical issues where electrical engineering is the dominant component.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Expertise and Support

• Provide electrical engineering expertise to technical Management of Change (MoCs) and Engineering Queries (EQs).
• Provide electrical engineering expertise to hazard identification and risk assessment processes.
• Provide electrical engineering expertise in performing incident investigations and defect assessments.
• Provide electrical engineering coaching to Client engineers.

Equipment Strategy and Maintenance

• Ensure that the inspection, testing, maintenance and condition monitoring tasks are aligned with the technical intent of Equipment Strategies.
• Develop and update the technical content of Equipment Strategies based on equipment performance feedback.
• Perform periodical review of planned inspection and maintenance effectiveness.

Analysis and Monitoring

• Perform reliability analysis for electrical equipment using surveillance, maintenance and condition monitoring data.
• Trend performance metrics for electrical equipment.

Operations and Project Delivery

• Provide electrical engineering expertise to delivery of Kirkuk actions.
• Lead resolution of complex, multi-discipline technical issues where the dominant component is electrical engineering.

Documentation and Procedures

• Write, review and recommend technical input into Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).
• Generate, revise and review discipline Technical Documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional accreditation: Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer.
• Substantial experience and technical understanding of engineering, maintenance and operation of electrical equipment in oil and gas facilities.
• Knowledge of governing codes, industry standards and local regulations relevant to electrical engineering.
• Proven ability in practical application of engineering standards and practices for electrical equipment.
• Sound stakeholder management experience.
