Role Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design, review, coordination, and construction supervision of major high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, and large-scale building developments in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose
Provide technical leadership for all electrical engineering systems on major building projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements, Saudi regulations, international standards, sustainability objectives, and project delivery milestones.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Review
- Lead the design, review, and coordination of electrical systems for high-rise and complex building developments.
- Review and approve electrical calculations, load schedules, single-line diagrams, technical reports, and specifications.
- Perform electrical load assessments, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit studies, protection coordination studies, and power system analysis.
Coordination & Integration
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, fire and life safety consultants, and specialist contractors to ensure seamless system integration.
- Lead multidisciplinary design reviews, value engineering workshops, and technical coordination meetings.
Contractor & Submission Management
- Review contractor submissions including shop drawings, material submittals, technical queries, method statements, and testing procedures.
- Conduct technical reviews to ensure compliance with project specifications, Saudi Building Code (SBC), SEC requirements, and international standards.
Construction Supervision & Site Activities
- Monitor electrical construction activities to ensure installations comply with approved drawings, project quality requirements, and safety standards.
- Conduct site inspections and witness testing, commissioning, and energization activities.
Regulatory & Authority Engagement
- Support authority submissions and approval processes with relevant utility providers and regulatory authorities.
Issue Resolution & Risk Management
- Identify and resolve design, construction, and commissioning issues to minimize project risks and delays.
Project Handover & Commissioning
- Support project handover activities and verify testing and commissioning documentation.
Sustainability & Innovation
- Implement energy-efficient and sustainable electrical design solutions, including renewable energy integration where applicable.
Leadership & Development
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers and project teams.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and engineering recommendations for clients and project stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university.
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or Building Services Engineering is preferred.
- Professional Engineer registration or Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
- Membership of recognized professional bodies such as IEEE, IET, or Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is desirable.
- LEED AP, Mostadam, or other sustainability-related certifications are an advantage.
- 15 to 20 years of professional electrical engineering experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience on major high-rise and large-scale building projects.
- Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC countries is highly preferred.
- Experience in consultant, PMC, or multidisciplinary engineering consultancy environments.
- Demonstrated involvement in projects from concept design through construction, commissioning, and handover.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in electrical building services design and engineering.
- Experience with power system studies and electrical distribution network design.
- Strong understanding of ELV systems, smart building technologies, and BMS integration.
- Experience in sustainable and energy-efficient building design solutions.
- Familiarity with testing, commissioning, and energization procedures.
