Senior Electrical Engineer-Facilities Maintenance

Role Overview

Senior Electrical Engineer—Facilities Maintenance at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), located in Abu Dhabi. The role is responsible for supporting the Manager and ensuring that all electrical networks and systems are in accordance with SSMC and local authority safety and management standards, policies, procedures, statutory and contractual requirements.

Role Purpose

Provide technical leadership and oversight of electrical networks, systems, and maintenance activities. Ensure all electrical works meet safety standards, contractual requirements, and operational specifications while supporting the Facilities Maintenance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Technical Oversight

• Design and supervise the design of a variety of electrical systems
• Evaluate electrical design drawings and specifications prepared by other engineers
• Facilitate and advise on the type and arrangement of circuits, circuit-breakers, and equipment based on calculations

Project Execution and Monitoring

• Prepare delivery and installation schedules for machines, cables, and fittings
• Oversee all activities relating to electrical works before, during, and after the execution of projects
• Monitor and ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with contract drawings, specifications, instructions, and programs
• Ensure that completed works meet specifications and safety standards, contributing to and adhering to the safety requirements of the operation

Testing, Compliance and Records

• Monitor all planning, arrangement, and control of material compliance testing and evaluation, and ensure relevant records are maintained
• Plan and conduct regular record inspection and test activities for materials and workmanship

Upgradation and Technical Support

• Facilitate annually for electrical networks and systems for upgradation and replacement
• Approve and assist the Engineer in resolving all recorded technical queries

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or in a relevant technical discipline, OR Diploma in relevant field with 3 years of additional experience
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in a similar industry

Desired

• Master's degree or equivalent in Engineering or in a relevant technical discipline
• Experience in a large healthcare facility
