Role Overview

Senior Draftsman - Structural at Nova Construction, based in the UAE, preparing and revising structural shop drawings in coordination with engineering, project management, and site teams.

Role Purpose

To prepare and revise detailed structural shop drawings in line with approved designs and specifications, coordinate with architectural and MEP disciplines to resolve clashes, and support structural engineers, project managers, and site teams throughout the design documentation and approval process.

Key Responsibilities

Drawing Preparation and Detailing

• Prepare detailed structural shop drawings based on IFC drawings and design specifications.
• Prepare bar bending schedules (BBS) and reinforcement detailing.
• Maintain solid understanding of structural detailing and reinforcement drawings.

Coordination and Clash Resolution

• Coordinate structural drawings with architectural and MEP disciplines to avoid clashes.
• Incorporate consultant comments and revise drawings accordingly.
• Assist site teams with drawing clarifications and updates as required.

Approvals and Documentation

• Support the submission process for approvals and respond to technical queries.
• Maintain organized documentation of all drawings and revisions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience within contracting environment in the UAE.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Revit Structure (advantage).
• Solid understanding of structural detailing and reinforcement drawings.
• Good coordination skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple drawing packages.
