Role Overview

Senior Director – FX & Commodities Trading at Mashreq, Treasury and Capital Markets division.

Role Purpose

Lead the Bank's foreign exchange and commodities trading activities across approved products, markets and jurisdictions. Deliver sustainable risk-adjusted revenues, manage trading books and market risks within approved limits, support client execution requirements, and strengthen the Bank's franchise across FX and commodities markets.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Portfolio Management

• Develop and execute the FX and commodities trading strategy aligned to Treasury & Global Markets priorities.
• Deliver sustainable revenue growth and risk-adjusted returns across approved FX and commodities trading books.
• Manage trading positions, liquidity, inventory, hedging and market risk within approved mandates and limits.
• Oversee trading activities across spot, forwards, swaps, options, precious metals, energy and other approved commodities products.

Market Intelligence & Analysis

• Monitor global macro trends, central bank actions, commodity supply-demand dynamics and geopolitical developments.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Provide competitive pricing and execution support to Sales and client coverage teams.
• Strengthen the Bank's market-making capability, client facilitation and liquidity access.

Partnerships & Operations

• Partner with Sales, Structuring, Risk, Operations and Technology to enhance products, execution channels and client solutions.

Governance & Conduct

• Ensure strong governance, market conduct, supervision and control standards across the desk.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering or related discipline; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
• CFA, FRM, ACI Dealing Certificate or equivalent markets qualification preferred.
• Extensive experience in FX, commodities, derivatives trading or global macro markets.
• Proven experience managing trading books and senior trading teams in a regulated environment.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of spot, forwards, swaps, options, precious metals, energy and commodity-linked products.
• Deep understanding of market risk, liquidity risk, benchmark conduct, execution standards and regulatory requirements.
