Role Overview
Senior Designer - Menswear at Apparel Group. This position works closely with other fashion departments to design assigned clothing and fashion ranges using CAD tools and meeting established briefs.
Role Purpose
Design menswear collections and ranges that align with market demand, customer needs, and price points by visualizing concepts, developing products, and collaborating across buying, planning, and forecasting teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Visualization
- Create and visualize design ideas using computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
- Develop design concepts from a technical perspective.
Trend & Market Analysis
- Keep up to date with emerging fashion trends relating to fabrics, colours, and shapes.
- Monitor general market trends to inform design direction.
Product Development
- Plan and develop menswear ranges.
- Work with buyers and forecasters to develop products that meet established briefs.
- Liaise closely with buying and planning teams to ensure items suit the customer, market, and price points.
Execution & Collaboration
- Multitask effectively across concurrent design projects.
- Maintain a proactive approach to problem-solving and workflow.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
- Expert-level knowledge of design software including Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Technical understanding of garment design and construction.
- Strong collaborative and communication skills.
