Senior Design Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Design Engineer at HILL International. The role manages design oversight for Regional Infrastructure Water Projects, combining technical expertise with project leadership for water and wastewater infrastructure.

Role Purpose

Deliver technical management and design oversight for Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, pumping stations, and desalination plants by coordinating client design consultants, ensuring compliance with program requirements, and maintaining quality and performance standards throughout the design phase.

Key Responsibilities

Design Management & Oversight

• Manage Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant, pumping stations, and desalination plant design by client design consultants.
• Support the Project Manager in managing and delivering design in accordance with program and client requirements.
• Review and approve design related to water and wastewater works.
• Perform analysis on design plans.
• Review analysis findings for technical and business reports.
• Specify proper analytical methods which support decision-making.

Team & Consultant Coordination

• Support managing the team of design engineers and consultants.
• Coordinate and monitor the development of design consultant planned activities.
• Interface with subject matter experts and design review teams.
• Plan and organize the review of design consultant deliverables.

Reporting & Performance

• Provide progress reports to Design Project Management, highlighting performance to plan.
• Provide quality assessment reports to Project Management and the client.

Sustainability & Quality

• Set up green initiatives in design processes.
• Inform themselves of relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals and Procedures within HILL International.
• Ensure continued compliance with Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health requirements while employed.

Contract & Construction Support

• Assist the Contracts Department and Construction teams in pre-construction and post-contract award activities.

General

• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager or supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor or Master of Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 15 years' experience after graduation.
• Minimum 10 years of design experience related to water and wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater master plan.
