Role Purpose

To design, build, and deploy machine learning models for personalization and recommendation systems that enhance user experiences across the Careem platform at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Model Development & Deployment

• Design, build, and deploy machine learning models for personalization and recommendation systems
• Conduct A/B testing to measure the impact of personalization initiatives
• Monitor model performance and continuously improve accuracy and relevance
• Stay current with advancements in machine learning and personalization techniques

Data Analysis & Insights

• Analyze large-scale data to uncover user behavior patterns and insights
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders across the business

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate models into production systems

Team Leadership

• Mentor junior data scientists within the team

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on personalization or recommendation systems
• Experience deploying models into production environments

Skills & Competencies

• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and machine learning frameworks
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills to present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
