Senior Data Engineer - Systems Architecture, Design & Development at Wynn Al Marjan Island, located in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

Company Overview

Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE, set to open in 2027, located 50 miles from Dubai International Airport in Ras Al Khaimah. The resort will feature 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges and bars, a theater, a beach club, multiple swimming and wading pools, water features, a five-star spa, a salon, a shopping promenade, and a celebrations and events center.

Role Purpose

Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and warehouses to deliver high-quality analytics-ready data assets that support business intelligence and operational reporting across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Data Pipeline Design & Development

• Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python, Snowflake, and Airflow.
• Build scalable batch, incremental, real-time, and CDC-based data ingestion solutions.
• Develop data loading strategies for structured and semi-structured data, including merge and upsert patterns.

Data Warehouse & Analytics

• Develop and maintain data warehouses and dimensional models for analytics and reporting.
• Design analytics-ready data structures and dimensional models.
• Optimize Snowflake data models, query performance, and data loading processes.
• Enhance data platform performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Orchestration & Automation

• Create and manage Airflow DAGs for workflow orchestration, scheduling, and monitoring.
• Develop and maintain workflow dependencies and scheduling automation.

Stakeholder Support

• Translate business requirements into scalable and reliable data engineering solutions.
• Produce technical documentation and support analytics teams with high-quality data assets.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5–7 years of hands-on experience in data engineering.
• Strong expertise in SQL, Python, ETL/ELT development, and data pipeline automation.
• Proven experience designing and optimizing data warehouses, dimensional models, and analytics-ready data structures.
• Strong knowledge of batch, incremental, CDC, and merge/upsert data loading strategies.
• Advanced experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, data loading, query optimization, security, and warehouse management.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration, DAG development, scheduling, monitoring, and dependency management.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as SnowPro Core, Databricks Data Engineer Professional, or Azure Data Engineer Associate are preferred.
