Role Overview
Senior Cost Estimator at Wood PLC, based in Sohar, Oman. The role joins the Projects team to deliver across FEED and Detail design scopes of work.

Role Purpose
Analyze project scope, engineering documents, quantities, and material take-offs to prepare accurate cost estimates. Perform cost analysis, benchmarking, maintain estimating databases, and drive cost forecasting for Oil and Gas projects across FEED and Detail design phases.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation & Analysis
- Prepare and review CAPEX/OPEX cost estimates (Class 5 to Class 1) for Oil and Gas projects.
- Analyze project scope, engineering documents, quantities, and material take-offs.
- Develop estimate basis, cost breakdowns, contingencies, and risk assessments.
- Perform cost analysis and benchmarking.
Database & Forecasting
- Maintain estimating databases.
- Support cost forecasting activities.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Support tender evaluations, vendor quotations, budgeting, and cost forecasting.
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders on funding, estimates, and investment decisions.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes.
- Mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Engineering in related discipline.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in Oil and Gas industry.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in similar role.
- Experience in Refinery projects.
Skills & Competencies
- Skilled in MS Office applications.
- Multi-skilled personnel with experience in Onshore Oil and Gas.
