Role Overview
Senior Cost Control Engineer at Egis Group, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role oversees cost control activities for one of the company's major projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation and financial performance.

Role Purpose
You will oversee cost management, design review, and budget control for large-scale infrastructure and construction projects, ensuring accurate financial performance tracking and cost optimization across the program.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Planning and Budget Management
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
- Create and update financial models to forecast project costs and cash flows.
- Maintain the Program and Project Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).
- Manage changes made to the structure of the CBS with version control.
Cost Analysis and Reporting
- Conduct detailed cost analyses and provide regular cost performance reports to stakeholders.
- Provide cost performance analysis, interpretation and forecasting of cost performance against budgets.
- Provide budget and cost performance evaluation, interpretation and support business planning efforts.
Cost Control and Systems
- Implement and maintain cost control systems to track project expenses and variances.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables meet budget constraints.
Risk Management and Strategy
- Support risk assessments and assist in development of mitigation strategies to minimize financial impacts.
- Provide expert advice on cost-related matters to project managers and senior leadership.
Compliance and Development
- Stay current with local regulations and industry best practices in cost engineering.
- Support recruitment efforts in identifying, interviewing and deploying cost control staff into the project team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- 10-15 years of experience in cost engineering and cost reporting or management, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or major construction projects.
- Extensive knowledge of cost engineering principles, PMO practices, and budget management.
- Has led cost control teams and managed the cost function at a departmental level.
- Familiarity with construction and engineering practices in Saudi Arabia.
- Knowledge of local regulations and standards relevant to project costing and management.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong proficiency in cost management software, including Primavera systems and Excel.
- Excellent knowledge and skills in financial modeling, risk assessment, and contract management.
- In-depth understanding of design review processes and their impact on project costs.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
