Senior Construction Manager

Role Purpose

To lead the senior management and delivery of villa development construction projects, ensuring all programme objectives are achieved while maintaining focus on time, cost, quality, risk, sustainability and environmental considerations within the agreed project framework.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Construction Management

• Take senior leadership role on day-to-day delivery of all project and construction management tasks.
• Oversee and ensure the planning of activities is coordinated and all essential components are in place to ensure on-time project completion.
• Oversee and contribute to the sequencing and buildability of the project to ensure all programme objectives are achieved.

Contractor Management & Oversight

• Review contractor proposals to ensure the right systems, techniques and productivity targets can be achieved within programme requirements.
• Oversee, monitor and update contractor progress and offer best practice solutions to ensure overall programme delivery against the contract programme.
• Manage consultant and contractor teams to ensure that the contractor's design and drawings are done in compliance with the contract.

Governance & Approvals

• Oversee and ensure the management and handling of local government approvals process.

Tender & Contracts

• Take senior role with the compilation of tender documents and critically reviewing tender returns.
• Conduct contract negotiations and contract awards.
• Provide client reporting on tender and contract matters.

Documentation & Reporting

• Oversee and develop project documentation, programs and master budget.
• Produce and review reports to suit relevant stages of the projects.

Risk, Sustainability & Quality

• Take senior role in the delivery of projects within the framework of risk, sustainability and environmental considerations agreed at the business case and client brief stage, while maintaining focus on time, cost and quality.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a related field: Engineering or Project Management.
• 15 or more years of experience in construction management or supervision of large villa developments, including infrastructure.
• Design & Build contract administration experience is preferred.
• Experience in leading multi-disciplinary site teams.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools and best practices.
• Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6 or similar reporting tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, stakeholders and project teams.
• Ability to quickly identify and address project issues, find feasible solutions and make informed decisions.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively handle project complexities.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
