Senior Composite Engineer (Luxury Yachting Industry)

Role Overview

Senior Composite Engineer at Sunreef Yachts, Ras Al Khaimah. This role focuses on the design, development, and production support of composite structures for luxury yachts.

Role Purpose

Design, develop, and provide production support for composite structures in luxury yacht manufacturing. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure structural integrity, manufacturability, and high-quality execution of composite components.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

• Develop detailed 3D models of composite structures and components
• Design plugs, molds, and tooling systems for production
• Prepare accurate 2D workshop drawings and technical documentation
• Define and optimize lamination schedules for composite parts
• Propose and implement optimized construction and structural solutions

Production & Quality Assurance

• Support production teams with technical guidance during manufacturing and assembly
• Review and validate structural integrity and manufacturability of composite designs
• Participate in problem-solving and troubleshooting during production phases

Coordination & Collaboration

• Coordinate with engineering, production, and planning teams to ensure workflow efficiency

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in composite design, analysis, or manufacturing
• Strong understanding of composite materials and structural behavior
• Ability to read and produce technical drawings and lamination documentation
• Good command of English (written and spoken)

Skills & Competencies

• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks with advanced surfacing capability
• Proficiency in Rhinoceros (Rhino 3D)
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
• Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
• Experience with composite manufacturing processes (hand layup, vacuum infusion)
• Knowledge of materials such as E-glass, carbon fiber, and core materials
• Experience in composite tooling design (plugs, molds, tooling systems)
• Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
• Background in marine, aerospace, or automotive industries
