Role Overview

Senior Commissioning Engineer (Telecom) with McDermott, based in Dubai. The role supports commissioning activities for telecommunications systems on major energy projects.

Role Purpose

Lead and execute commissioning activities for telecommunications systems across project sites, ensuring successful installation, testing, integration, and handover of telecom equipment in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Commissioning Leadership

• Lead commissioning activities for telecommunications systems on project sites.
• Support pre-commissioning and start-up activities as required.

Procedures and Planning

• Develop and review commissioning procedures and test plans for telecom systems.
• Prepare commissioning progress reports and documentation.

Coordination and Integration

• Coordinate with vendors and engineering teams on system integration and testing.
• Support installation verification, testing, and system handover of telecom equipment.

Technical Execution

• Troubleshoot telecom system issues during commissioning phases.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of commissioning experience with telecom systems; oil and gas EPC experience preferred.
• Experience with major offshore or onshore energy projects.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of telecommunications system architecture and protocols.
• Excellent troubleshooting and technical documentation skills.
• Fluency in English.
