Senior Civil Engineer-Water Transmission Pipeline

Role Overview

Senior Civil Engineer – Water Transmission Pipeline at WSP in the Middle East. The Senior Civil Engineer will act as the Consultant's representative and be responsible for overseeing the construction and delivery of water transmission pipeline works.

Role Purpose

Monitor contractor performance, ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards, coordinate with stakeholders, and support the successful execution of the project within schedule and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Supervision

• Supervise construction activities related to water transmission pipelines and associated civil infrastructure.
• Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and applicable standards.
• Identify and resolve technical issues encountered during construction.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Monitor contractor progress, quality, and compliance with HSE requirements.
• Review and provide comments on shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical proposals.
• Experience in reviewing technical submittals, QA/QC procedures, and construction methodologies.
• Conduct site inspections and witness testing and commissioning activities.

Documentation & Reporting

• Review contractor progress reports, inspection records, and technical documentation.
• Prepare periodic progress, quality, and technical reports for project management.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with the Client, Contractor, authorities, and other project stakeholders.
• Assist in evaluating variations, claims, and contractual matters.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering.
• At least 5 years on water transmission pipeline or water infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience in construction supervision and consultancy roles.
• GCC/Middle East experience is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of pipeline construction, earthworks, reinforced concrete structures, and utility coordination.
• Familiarity with international standards and industry best practices related to water infrastructure projects.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and report-writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
