Role Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to provide technical leadership and oversight on all roads, highways, and infrastructure works.

Role Purpose
To deliver technical leadership and engineering excellence on road and highway construction projects, ensuring full compliance with KSA standards, client requirements, and international best practices while managing stakeholder coordination, quality oversight, and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Review & Oversight
- Provide technical leadership on all roads, highways, and infrastructure works.
- Review and assess road geometry, pavement designs, drainage systems, utilities coordination, and traffic management plans.
- Review and approve method statements, material submittals, shop drawings, and temporary traffic management plans related to road works.
Design & Construction Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with design consultants, contractors, and construction teams to review drawings, specifications, calculations, and construction methodologies.
- Supervise and monitor earthworks, asphalt works, concrete works, culverts, road furniture, and associated infrastructure.
- Act as technical interface between AtkinsRéalis, the client, contractors, and relevant local authorities on all road-related engineering matters.
Site Monitoring & Compliance
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with approved designs, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Monitor contractor performance against schedule, quality, and safety benchmarks.
Risk Management & Problem Solving
- Identify construction risks, non-conformances, and technical challenges.
- Propose practical and timely engineering solutions.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, utility authorities, and suppliers to resolve technical and interface issues.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and review technical reports, inspection records, non-conformance reports, correspondence, and progress documentation.
- Report progress and risks to the project team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable institution.
- Minimum 15+ years of experience.
- Proven experience in road construction supervision, including earthworks, pavement layers, drainage, and utilities coordination.
- Strong knowledge of KSA road standards, specifications, and construction practices (MOT, municipal, or authority standards).
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, MX Road, OpenRoads, or similar software.
- Familiarity with pavement design tools.
- Good understanding of traffic management, site safety practices, and construction sequencing.
- Communication and coordination skills with ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
