Role Purpose
Manage a clinical caseload and provide specialized medical expertise in Aviation Medicine to ensure high-quality, compliant service to air crew aligned with regulatory standards and international best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Medical Expertise
- Provide specialized care in accordance with HAAD rules and Civil Aviation regulations to determine fit-to-fly conditions.
- Respond to and handle medical emergencies in the Medical Centre clinical area, providing required medical care to ensure patient health and safety.
- Provide general medicine consultations when needed.
Compliance & Audit
- Participate in medical audits as required by Health Authorities, Aviation and related Authorities for licensing requirements to ensure full compliance.
- Maintain high degree of awareness and understanding of HAAD and GCAA regulations and standards.
Operational & Strategic Planning
- Participate in review and planning activities relevant to specialist services in the Medical Centre to increase operational efficiency.
- Develop clinical care pathways with strategic healthcare provider partners to ensure seamless service for air crew.
Policy & Governance
- Assist in formulation of policies and procedures and prepare directives governing aviation medicine and preventative medicine issues to ensure consistency in provided services and alignment to regulations.
Reporting & Analysis
- Collect and analyse data on provided specialist services to report main insights to management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Diploma in Medicine (2 years or more) with post-graduation qualification in Aviation Medicine from an institution recognized by the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience overall in the aviation medicine field.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in aviation medicine specialty in health clinical or hospital settings since gaining higher qualification.
- Current license from HAAD to practice within the specialty.
Skills & Competencies
- Specialized expertise in Aviation Medicine.
- High degree of awareness and understanding of HAAD and GCAA regulations and standards.
