Role Overview

Senior Associate - Tendering Buildings at Aldar Properties. The role is based in Abu Dhabi.

Role Purpose

Assist in Aldar's purchasing activities by reviewing spend, rates, and contractor performance. Implement and maintain the strategic sourcing framework to ensure continuity, effectiveness, and proper support to the business.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Management & Prequalification

• Assist in reviewing prequalification of consultants, contractors, and service providers.
• Classify vendors based on their expertise and set criteria.
• Manage Aldar approved vendors list for stakeholder reference and pricing enquiries.
• Maintain the construction contract Vendor List with frequent updates and prequalification.
• Ensure integration with Department of Economy for vendors' approved activities as per their trade license.

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

• Adopt strategic sourcing for typical products and goods required on Aldar Projects, including tiles, joinery, air conditioners, and white goods.
• Obtain Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from shortlisted vendors for works or services.
• Conduct market research for adequate and innovative design and solution.
• Implement Abu Dhabi Municipality new activities and classification.

Performance Monitoring & Analysis

• Assist in monitoring main sub-contractors' performance in construction contracts.
• Conduct periodic spend analysis on Aldar spend by category and vendor, in conjunction with the AVP – Strategic Sourcing.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor degree in engineering or contract management.
• Minimum 6+ years of experience leading a procurement or sourcing function.
• Formal contractual dispute resolution training is highly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Good understanding of site-based aspects of construction projects.
• Good understanding of construction costs, cost estimation techniques, and rate analysis.
• Knowledge of construction items and market rates.
• IT proficiency with extensive experience in Excel, Database, and Estimating Software.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and achieve tight deadlines.
• Commitment to professional ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.
