Role Purpose
The role focuses on business development and marketing of the bank's existing product base in Cash Management and Trade Finance. The incumbent identifies opportunities by understanding clients' business models, operational and financial processes, working capital and treasury management needs, and delivers customer-centric banking solutions. The position carries annual revenue targets and quantitative and qualitative KPIs, contributing to the Global Transaction Banking department's objectives of growing the customer base, increasing revenue and transaction volumes in compliance with QNB Group policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Shareholder & Financial
- Develop and execute timely, quality sales plans for transaction solutions contributing to department revenue and profitability in Cash Management and Trade Finance.
- Deliver targets aligned with Global Corporate and Institutional Banking strategic directions and applicable policy guidelines.
- Partner with country corporate management to achieve unit budget, implement group-approved business plans, and meet overall QNB Group objectives with direct P&L ownership.
- Drive growth in transaction fees, Trade assets, and CASA balances.
- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency to minimize costs, avoid waste, and optimize benefits for the bank.
- Act within the limits of delegated authority.
Customer Development & Relationship Management
- Collect market information on competitor actions and customer preferences for business development.
- Formulate and proactively implement sales and marketing strategy to achieve Cash Management and Trade Finance plans.
- Conduct client and market data analysis to prepare actionable insights for enhancing Global Transaction Banking offerings and preserving market share.
- Work closely with in-country relationship managers in identifying cash management and trade finance opportunities from corporate clients with regular follow-ups to close sales.
- Monitor sales activity results and provide feedback for plan review.
- Regularly interact with customers and market participants to gather feedback on Global Transaction Banking products and services.
- Demonstrate thought leadership in developing new solutions to complement Global Corporate and Institutional Banking business growth.
- Assist customers with queries on bank products and seek solutions to their requests.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with related departments and units to achieve Group objectives.
- Collaborate with the group Global Transaction Banking team to develop in-country product solutions meeting corporate client and market requirements.
Digital & Operations
- Increase adoption of digital channels and straight-through processing to improve efficiency and maximize shareholder benefits.
- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements with internal departments to achieve improvements in turnaround time.
- Provide timely and accurate data to external and internal auditors, compliance, financial control, and risk functions when required.
Marketing & Product Development
- Provide valuable inputs to the Group cash management and trade services product development team based on market research data and customer feedback.
- Provide ongoing support to existing customers of cash management and trade finance services and ensure consistent client follow-ups.
- Prepare country sales and marketing plans, road shows, and customer workshops to promote awareness of cash management and trade finance products and services.
- Ensure implementation of approved marketing plans and monitor results, reporting to the direct manager if alterations are required.
- Respond to Requests for Proposals by assessing customer needs and recommending effective approaches and pricing structures.
- Coordinate received RFPs with Global Transaction Banking sales, product, services, and implementation teams to ensure competitive offers.
- Support relationship managers in selling efforts by providing expertise and structuring know-how.
Reporting & Compliance
- Collect information pertaining to activities in full and timely manner as required by functional procedures.
- Perform verification of information on assigned customers' activities to ensure data correctness.
- Prepare and deliver periodic and ad hoc management information system reports on personal and unit performance with regular group reporting.
- Ensure provision of timely and accurate information to senior management, external and internal auditors, and the compliance function when required.
- Perform any other tasks and projects assigned by the direct manager pertaining to Corporate and Institutional Banking and QNB Group activities.
Learning & Development
- Take responsibility for self-development and acquire skills and knowledge required to fulfill job duties.
- Keep abreast of the latest technical, financial, industry, and market developments affecting job responsibilities and the business and operations of the bank.
