Role Overview
Senior Architect (Site Supervision) at AECOM in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. You will oversee architectural design implementation and site supervision for complex construction projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications, building codes, and quality standards.

Role Purpose
You will serve as a key liaison between design teams, contractors, and project stakeholders, providing technical expertise and decisive leadership throughout the construction phase. You will ensure all on-site construction activities comply with approved architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements while analyzing construction challenges and providing innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Quality Assurance
- Supervise and monitor all on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with approved architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality assurance reviews to verify workmanship, material standards, and adherence to building codes and regulations.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material samples, and construction methodologies for compliance with design specifications.
Documentation & Communication
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive site documentation, including daily reports, inspection logs, change orders, and construction records.
- Manage project communications and documentation, preparing progress reports and presenting findings to project management and stakeholders.
Coordination & Problem-Solving
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve technical issues, clarify design intent, and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze construction challenges and provide innovative solutions while maintaining project timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate with design teams to address field conditions and implement design modifications as needed.
Leadership & Compliance
- Lead and mentor on-site teams, communicating architectural requirements clearly and ensuring professional standards are maintained.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance protocols are implemented and maintained throughout the construction process.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 15 years of demonstrable experience in all aspects of supervision and project administration of architectural works related to large-scale projects within the Middle East in the consulting industry.
- Bachelor Degree in Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
- Membership of a recognized institution (PE, PEng, CEng, or equivalent) preferred.
- LEED GA or AP certifications a plus.
