Role Purpose
Oversee and supervise all architectural works on-site to ensure conformance with contract documents and procedures. Manage architectural technical submissions, coordinate with other disciplines and sub-consultants, and ensure quality standards and compliance through project completion and handover.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Compliance
- Oversee and monitor architectural works to ensure conformance with contract documents and the procedures manual.
- Manage architectural inspectors to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Sign off on completed architectural works, ensuring all documentation is complete.
Technical Review and Coordination
- Review and process all architectural technical submittals.
- Address RFIs related to architectural aspects.
- Coordinate and supervise all architectural activities and operations.
- Lead the coordination process with other disciplines.
- Liaise and coordinate with necessary sub-consultants.
Documentation and Claims
- Review contractor's architectural change order proposals and provide recommendations to the PM.
- Review contractor claims related to architectural works and prepare recommendations for claims to the PM.
- Review contractor's project record documents relevant to architectural works.
Testing, Commissioning and Handover
- Assist in the inspection of completed works and monitor the start-up, testing, commissioning, and handover of architectural works.
Reporting
- Prepare weekly planning reports and progress reports.
Additional Duties
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the PM.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
- Minimum of 18 years of experience in the Middle East.
- 10–15 years working in UAE or Middle East based international consultancy environment.
- Hospitality experience is required.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of exterior envelope details and material interfaces.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Ability to review and provide feedback on technical documentation effectively.
- Strong understanding of project specifications and authority requirements.
- Complete project understanding in the architectural discipline, from inception to handover.
