Senior Analytics Specialist

Role Overview

Senior Analytics Specialist at Etihad Airways. The position is based at the airline's hub in Abu Dhabi and reports to the Manager of Operations Reporting & Analytics.

Role Purpose

To analyze and visualize Etihad's operational data resources, answer high-value analytical questions from operations departments across the airline, and drive cost savings, network optimization, and fuel efficiency through advanced analytical solutions and self-serve reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics & Reporting

• Develop reports and self-serve dashboards to drive cost savings, network optimization, and fuel efficiency.
• Develop and maintain calibration of models to ensure they are relevant and optimal for the current business state.
• Monitor the benefits of models and provide monthly reports and actionable insights to the leadership team.
• Communicate and present insights to relevant stakeholders.

Process Improvement & Innovation

• Research and propose ways to enhance existing business processes by effectively utilizing advanced analytical solutions.
• Continually develop analytics capabilities and techniques for data analysis and problem-solving, ensuring alignment with industry-leading business intelligence standards.

Team Development

• Share knowledge with the rest of the operations analytics team to upskill existing team members on advanced analytics techniques such as predictive modeling, forecasting, and machine learning.

Systems & Delivery

• Manage user acceptance testing (UAT) and roll-out of new systems and upgrades to existing systems to ensure delivery of requirements as per business needs without severe defects or bugs.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or data science.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in analytics and report development.
• Experience in Query tool applications such as SQL, Databricks, Python, and Synapse is preferred.
• Must have experience in analytical tools like Power BI or Tableau.
