Role Overview
Senior Analyst, Financial at ADNOC. The role is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, within the Finance Division.
Role Purpose
Ensure the efficiency and integrity of financial data entry, manipulation, and reporting across Oracle Financials and related systems. Administer databases including General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Currencies, and Chart of Accounts. Supervise monthly financial closing, interface management, cost reporting, and provide technical and training support to Finance Division end users, away teams, and regional offices. Lead the implementation of finance system applications and design financial reporting structures to support accurate charge-out in compliance with accounting standards and service agreements.
Key Responsibilities
Data Integrity & Code Management
- Analyze the integrity and classification of accounting code combinations requested by Finance Away Teams and regional offices.
- Define code combinations based on Finance Away Team and regional office requirements.
- Create, update, activate, and deactivate segment values and code combinations in Oracle Financials.
- Ensure the integrity of interfaces between Oracle Financials and ancillary systems including Maximo and HRMS.
Database & System Administration
- Administer and maintain General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Currencies, and Chart of Accounts databases.
- Interface Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to Oracle Financials for actual and commitment transactions.
- Interface Oracle for Inventory, Internal and External commitments.
- Contribute to development and enhancement of reporting mechanisms and ensure full utilization of Financial Systems including Oracle Financials and Maximo.
Financial Reporting & Statements
- Prepare monthly cost reports, quarterly and annual billing statements, and budget reports in accordance with Company guidelines and schedule.
- Prepare Budget Notification and Performance Reports at business and service unit level on monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
- Design Budget and Business Plan templates and produce financial data for 5-Year Plan for corporate planning.
- Ensure preparation and delivery of all Financial and Management Reports to Shareholders and Company Management relating to Joint Venture and Sole risk activities.
- Prepare draft quarterly and annual financial statements for ADOF and Concessions in accordance with Accounting Guide and IFRS.
- Ensure financial statements workings are prepared and updated to support drafting and finalizing financial statements.
- Design, develop, and maintain Financial Reporting Structure in Oracle Financials.
Reconciliation & Validation
- Generate monthly trial balance for ADOF and Concessions on a timely basis.
- Check and reconcile relevant balance sheet accounts including bank balances, advances to suppliers, and cash call position with supporting documents on a periodic basis.
- Investigate differences and reconciling items and prepare journal vouchers for necessary adjustments and corrections.
- Check and reconcile Interface Reports including Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Inventory with General Ledger reports.
- Investigate anomalies in interface reports and prepare journal vouchers for necessary adjustments and corrections.
Cost Allocation & Analysis
- Monitor expenditure and prepare Cash Call for associated ventures.
- Run allocations after verifying expenditure went to correct pool and statistics were received, then post journals through Oracle.
- Prepare variance analysis by comparing actuals by month and actual against budget.
- Perform scenario analysis and develop ad-hoc queries as assigned.
User Support & Training
- Provide support to Finance Division end users, Finance Away Teams, and regional offices.
- Ensure correct charge-out in Oracle Financial Costing System in compliance with Accounting Guide and service agreements between Concessions.
- Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills to enable proficiency on the job and delivery of section objectives.
- Provide training and support to Finance Division end users, away teams, and Young UAE Nationals.
System Implementation
- Participate in implementation of finance-related system applications, whether new or upgrade.
- Contribute to formation of business requirements of the company.
- Analyze and propose automation solutions to enhance performance of financial processes.
Supervision & Planning
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate all activities in assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Provide input for preparation of Section and Department budgets and assist in implementation of approved budgets and work plans.
- Investigate and highlight significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
Policies & Continuous Improvement
- Implement approved Section and Department policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures to support execution of work programs in line with Company and International standards.
- Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve quality and efficiency of operational processes.
- Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards.
- Contribute to achievement of approved Performance Objectives for the Section and Department in line with Company Performance framework.
- Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

- Perform assigned tasks in a safe, professional, and efficient manner, complying with HSE requirements related to all job activities.
- Ensure subordinates perform duties in a safe manner and are aware of related HSE procedures.

- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, and controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices, and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Finance discipline.
- 8 to 9 years of experience, including at least experience in Finance and Accounting areas, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Professional certification: ACA, ACCA, ACMA, or CPA.

Additional Information
- Reporting relationships include contacts with Division Managers in ADNOC Offshore on financial matters, FIN Away teams, Job Officers, and Division Planners regarding financial and budgeting matters.
- External relationships include Concession Holders and External Auditors.
