Role Overview
Securities & Derivatives Analyst 2 at Citigroup in Dubai. This is an intermediate-level position within Operations - Transaction Services, open to UAE nationals only.
Role Purpose
Process securities and derivatives orders and transactions from trading desks and branch offices. Facilitate the clearance, settlement and investigation of client transactions in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Processing
- Process securities transactions and provide analytic input for traders.
- Aid in review of derivative products.
- Monitor and suggest solutions to errors to minimize risk to the bank through intermediate knowledge of procedural requirements.
- Escalate transaction processing issues to the appropriate department and collaborate on a solution.
Settlement & Issue Resolution
- Identify and resolve securities and derivative settlement issues.
- Make process improvement recommendations to leadership.
Reporting & Analysis
- Analyze moderately complex reports to satisfy management requirements.
- Design and analyze moderately complex reports in coordination with standards set by direct leadership.
- Aid in control activities.
Product & Process Development
- Contribute to the launch of product services and new products.
- Assist with control activities and the launch of new products and services.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure processes adhere to audit and control policies.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets.
- Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
- Adhere to Policy and apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices.
- Escalate, manage and report control issues with transparency.
Corporate Actions & Custody
- Understand corporate action activities including proxies, dividend, bonus processing and other related functions.
- Understand custodial responsibilities.
Qualifications & Experience
- 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Fundamental understanding of Treasury products, accounting and regulatory policies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of macroeconomics.
- Bachelor's Degree or University degree, or equivalent experience, in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
Skills & Competencies
- Proven ability to perform various concurrent activities and projects in a high-risk environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
