SCS/CS Field Service Engineer - ECT

Role Overview

SCS/CS Field Service Engineer – Early Career Trainee at GE Vernova, Grid Solutions. This is a 12-month internship program for early career talent designed to develop field technical skills and provide on-the-job knowledge to serve client sites in the energy sector.

Role Purpose

Support GE Vernova engineers in delivering field service and engineering works for Substation Automation Systems, Protection Relays, and SCMS/SCS installations. Develop foundational technical competencies through hands-on involvement in project execution, system installation, testing, and coordination at client sites.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Support

• Support GE Vernova engineer for preparation of Signal List from Schematics and other applicable documents.
• Support engineering and field service works for Protection Relays, Panels modification, protection logic diagram, GA/LA, Bill of Materials, Purchasing requests, Protection/SCMS/LCC Schematics, SCMS/Cyber Security Architectures, SCMS Signal list, Cable Schedule, Control Desk Drawing, IEC61850 signal mapping.
• Support production document delivery including Wiring Table, Label list, Cable Schedule, Interpanel wiring files.
• Support CT/VT Adequacy check and Relay setting calculations.

Field Services & Installation

• Support GE Vernova engineer for Field Services activity of Substation Automation Systems including DCS/SCS, RTU and Cyber security.
• Support the installation of the SCS system at site, including Fiber optic layout, PC installation at panels, SCS consoles wiring, installation, and testing.
• Support GE Vernova engineer to coordinate and record tests for digital inputs, controls, measurements, interlocks, IEC61850 IED's, SCADA signals and SCS functionalities.

Project Management & Safety

• Support all technical activities for assigned projects, including EHS coordination and follow-up and site works.
• Follow project planning to ensure timely achievement of project milestones as per project schedule.
• Coordinate workplace EHS issues and ensure the availability of suitable PPE for T&C personnel, both internal and subcontracted.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Machine Power, Electrical Power, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, Control and Instrumentation, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electronics, Cybersecurity, or Artificial Intelligence, or a related field from an accredited university.
• Fresh graduates up to 2 years of experience.

Additional Information

• Arabic language capability is a plus.
• Certificate in Cybersecurity or Artificial Intelligence is an advantage.
