Role Overview

Electrician position with Helmerich & Payne (H&P) in Saudi Arabia. This role is responsible for the electrical safety and integrity of H&P drilling rig operations and the continual function of electrical equipment.

Role Purpose

Maintain electrical safety and equipment integrity across H&P rig operations. This position offers the opportunity to deliver electrical leadership, coach field leaders, develop consistent electrical solutions, and train maintenance best practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Safety & Operations

• Demonstrate core values and safety standards according to the H&P way.
• Ensure safe electrical operation of the drill rig, related equipment, and personnel who use electrical equipment as part of regular duties.
• Evaluate electrical problems and take corrective action.
• Conduct safety inspections of electrical components, making repairs and adjustments as needed.
• In conjunction with site management, implement safety and security measures for protection of personnel against electrical injury or near miss.

Equipment Installation & Maintenance

• Install new equipment, retrofits, and upgrades, and ensure installed equipment is operating properly and compliant with Saudi Arabia electrical standards.
• Order all electrical parts and ensure adequate stock of parts are available.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs of electrical equipment.
• Timely complete preventative maintenance procedures.
• Enter thorough service reports into E.A.M.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

• Demonstrate commitment to H&P's Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and C.A.R.E. processes, including COACH people-based safety, Compass Cards, LifeBelts, JSAs, hotwork, confined space entry, lock-out/tag-out, and dropped object prevention, with a proven track record of compliance.
• Lead job-related JSA and Compass Card Meetings.
• Understand and apply local, territory, state, and federal statutory obligations.
• Learn and apply relevant Saudi legislation as it pertains to drilling, electrical standards, HSE obligations and expectations, reporting, and audit.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant H&P policies.
• Personally comply with all Company policies and procedures and set an example for others to follow.

Leadership & Development

• Deliver electrical leadership developmental workshops.
• Coach H&P leaders in the field.
• Work with a talented team to develop consistent electrical solutions and train others in H&P on maintenance best practices.
• Consult with crews to optimize safety and productivity outcomes.

Systems & Reporting

• Understand and use H&P's Permitted Operations Management System (POMS).
• Provide regular updates and reports and work closely with site management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in rig drilling machinery and equipment.
• Level 1 Electric with 3+ years' experience as H&P Electric.
• Previous experience working in indigenous environments.
• Completed Expert level of the BOP training in Workday.
• Must have completed the Expert Electrical Workday Certification training.

Skills & Competencies

• Demonstrate knowledge of Rig Electrical System Safety & Reliability Guidelines.
• Thorough knowledge of H&P HSE Standards and Guidelines, with emphasis on Section 59, Rig Crew Maintenance – Electrical Safety.
• Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to comply with federal, state, and territory electrical standards and requirements, as well as related health, safety, and environmental legislation.
• Effectively work across diverse cultural environments and accept cultural norms.
