Role Overview
Sales Executive at Abbott, based in Al-Qassim, Saudi Arabia, within the Rapid Diagnostic Infectious Disease Division. This is a field-based position.

These tests, instruments, and informatics systems provide crucial information that often forms the first step in patient care decision-making for hundreds of health conditions including heart attacks, blood disorders, infectious diseases, and cancers.
Role Purpose
The Sales Executive is responsible for achieving assigned sales quotas by promoting Abbott's full Infectious Disease portfolio across a designated territory. The role drives territory development and market adoption of point of care diagnostics, facilitates new product launches including Covid-related products, and leverages cross-franchise synergies to advance the shift from laboratory-based testing to point of care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Territory & Sales Development
- Manage and drive territory development through promotion of new and existing products.
- Carry out sales calls targeting high-value sales areas for maximum efficiency.
- Achieve assigned sales quota.
Marketing & Positioning
- Execute product presentations and competitor analysis activities.
- Implement the Go to Market strategy aligned with regional, global, and country-specific objectives.
- Support distribution partners with training, sales meetings, technical expertise, and marketing support.
Account Management
- Build, maintain, and expand strong partnerships with target accounts using a consultative selling approach.
- Engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
- Appraise current and planned customer needs and advise on application of company products and services to customer requirements.
- Develop relationships with key customers in the field.
Partner Collaboration
- Cooperate closely with distributor sales teams to develop and execute effective local sales strategies by customer segment.
Planning & Forecasting
- Provide forecasts, business reports, and action plans on a timely basis.
- Re-evaluate performance against forecast and budget on a regular basis.
- Conduct accurate and reliable demand planning and forecasting based on customer and distributor commitments.
Market Intelligence
- Collect and maintain up-to-date market intelligence including competition, prices, and tenders.
- Gather and report customer-related feedback.
Professional Standards
- Represent Abbott in a professional manner aligned with company image.
- Ensure all activities stay in line with legal and ethical standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- University Degree in Life Sciences, Pharma, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in healthcare sales, preferably in the diagnostics or point of care field.
- Familiarity with the healthcare industry and private healthcare providers for the given territory.
- Relationship with key customers in the field is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong command of English language (written and verbal); additional languages are advantageous.
- Solid Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience with CRM systems preferred.
- Ability to multitask and set priorities effectively.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Aggressive appetite for success and willingness to take on stretch targets.
