Safety Officer

Role Overview

Safety Officer (CHSE09 - Project Sr. HSE Inspector) with KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS). This role ensures the safety of workers engaged in Oil & Gas Facilities through comprehensive safety inspections and compliance oversight.

Role Purpose

Conduct safety inspections of equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure the safety and health of workers in Oil & Gas Facilities. Investigate incidents, enforce compliance with safety procedures, and promote a proactive safety culture through observation, reporting, and worker education.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Inspections & Equipment Assessment

• Inspect equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure safety of workers engaged in Oil & Gas Facilities.
• Inspect safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and tools and replace those not meeting safety requirements.
• Examine conditions of ditches and tunnels and recommend use of braces to prevent cave-ins endangering workers.

Observation & Enforcement

• Observe crews at work and report laxity in safety precautions, such as failure to use goggles, rubber gloves, and other safety devices.
• Encourage reporting of unsafe acts and conditions.

Incident Investigation & Prevention

• Investigate accidents to determine causes and devise preventive measures.

Compliance & Training

• Make sure of compliance with all safety procedures.
• Comply with all SHE procedures prior to commencement and during work.
• Instruct workers in use of safety equipment and safe work methods.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 8 years' experience in Oil & Gas maintenance with High School diploma, or minimum 6 years' experience in Oil & Gas maintenance with Diploma qualification.
• Strong technical understanding of maintenance jobs related to safety.
