Role Overview
Road Engineer at AtkinsRéalis. The role is based on-site managing road construction activities including earthworks, pavement layers, drainage, utilities, and traffic diversions while ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards.

Role Purpose
Supervise and manage daily road construction works including excavation, subgrade preparation, GSB, sub-base, and asphalt operations. Ensure correct implementation of designs on-site, maintain material quality and production standards, coordinate across survey and QA/QC teams, and guarantee compliance with all applicable specifications and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Supervision
- Supervise daily road construction works including excavation, subgrade, GSB, sub-base, and asphalt.
- Review drawings and ensure correct site implementation.
- Monitor material quality, equipment usage, and production rates.
Coordination & Compliance
- Coordinate activities with survey, QA/QC, and safety teams.
- Ensure compliance with AASHTO, ASTM, and project standards.
- Assist with traffic management and temporary diversions.
Reporting & Quality
- Report daily progress and highlight technical issues.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 5–10 years of road construction supervision experience.
- Strong understanding of pavement materials, grading, and compaction standards.
- Familiarity with surveying and drainage installation.
