Role Purpose

Support the hotel's risk management, occupational health and safety, fire and life safety, and emergency preparedness programmes in accordance with applicable local regulations, hotel policies, and IHG brand requirements. Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, colleagues, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Inspections & Risk Assessment

• Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification throughout the hotel.
• Monitor workplace safety practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Compliance & Monitoring

• Monitor compliance with hotel safety and security procedures, IHG requirements, and applicable Omani regulations.
• Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, incident registers, and compliance documentation.

Fire & Life Safety

• Support the implementation of fire and life safety procedures, emergency response plans, and evacuation drills.

Incident Investigation & Documentation

• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring accurate documentation and corrective action follow-up.

Training & Awareness

• Conduct safety awareness programmes, training sessions, and toolbox talks for colleagues.

Risk Mitigation & Prevention

• Coordinate with hotel departments to identify operational risks and implement preventive measures.

Audits & Continuous Improvement

• Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Safety Culture

• Promote a positive safety culture that protects guests, colleagues, contractors, and hotel assets.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, Security Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in health, safety, risk management, or hotel operations; hospitality experience is preferred.
• NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety certification is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Omani health, safety, and civil defence requirements.
• Good knowledge of fire and life safety, emergency preparedness, incident investigation, and occupational health and safety practices.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong communication, reporting, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Ability to conduct safety inspections, prepare reports, and deliver colleague training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Good command of English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and respond effectively during emergencies.
