AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Resident Engineer – Mechanical for a Substation project (132 kV) in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Role Purpose
To lead and supervise all mechanical engineering activities on EHV/HV substations, ensuring construction is executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract documents, and local authority requirements, while monitoring contractor performance and coordinating with project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Quality Assurance
- Lead and supervise all mechanical engineering activities related to EHV/HV substations (132 kV, 220 kV, 400 kV and above).
- Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, contract documents, and local authority requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify progress, workmanship, and compliance.
Contractor Management
- Monitor contractor performance, productivity, and adherence to project schedules.
- Review and recommend approval of contractor submissions, including method statements, material submittals, shop drawings, and work procedures.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Participate in progress review meetings and coordinate with all project stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in MEP engineering, with a focus on erection, testing, and commissioning.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent coordination and communication skills to work effectively with subcontractors, clients, and civil teams.
- Proven ability to prepare and review technical drawings and calculations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
