Role Purpose

To supervise and manage the daily activities of the Engineering Department, ensure the property and assets are maintained to the highest standards through effective management of systems and processes, and coordinate engineering operations and external service providers to support hotel operations.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Supervise and manage the daily activities of Engineering Department supervisors and subordinates.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate Engineering teams and external contractors.

Maintenance & Asset Management

• Ensure that the property and assets are maintained in the highest order through the effective management of the Jumeirah Engineering Management System.
• Monitor completed repair and maintenance works to ensure that established standards have been met.
• Conduct regular inspections of the property and engineering systems to identify maintenance requirements and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
• Experience in building maintenance, MEP systems, preventive maintenance, and engineering operations.

Systems & Compliance

• Assist in the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the JEMS (Jumeirah Engineering Management System), including the Fire, Life and Safety Matrix, PPM, and Work Order Systems.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Engineering Department policies, processes, procedures, and health and safety requirements.

Stakeholder & Contractor Management

• Coordinate with relevant hotel departments to ensure engineering requests and operational requirements are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
• Monitor the performance of contractors, suppliers, and external service providers to ensure compliance with required standards.

Communication & Reporting

• Communicate engineering and project updates to internal departments and external entities in a professional and timely manner.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or a related Engineering discipline.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in Engineering, preferably within a luxury hotel environment.
• Health and Safety certification.

Skills & Competencies

• Experience in building maintenance, MEP systems, preventive maintenance, and engineering operations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in English.
