Role Overview

Rescuer at Samsung E&A. This position is based on a project site and involves immediate emergency response and technical rescue operations.

Role Purpose

Act as the catalyst for facilitating the Samsung Engineering S.A.Y (Safety Around You) Culture program activities on the Project. Stimulate, manage, and coordinate the culture effort while serving as a member of the Emergency Response Team, combining technical rescue expertise with safety leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Emergency Response

• Respond immediately to emergency incidents upon activation of the Emergency Response Team in accordance with the Project Emergency Response Plan.
• Execute technical rescue operations for confined space, work at height, excavation and trench, structural collapse, and other high-risk emergencies.
• Support emergency response to fire, medical, hazardous material, and environmental incidents as directed by the Incident Commander.
• Rescue, stabilize, package, and evacuate casualties using approved rescue techniques and equipment.

Risk Assessment and Safety

• Conduct dynamic risk assessments and confirm scene safety prior to initiating rescue operations.
• Verify that rescue arrangements are established and readily available for high-risk activities under the Permit to Work system.
• Comply with the Project HSE Management System, Emergency Response Plan, Permit to Work requirements, applicable ADNOC HSE Standards, and Life Saving Rules.

Equipment Management

• Operate, inspect, test, and maintain emergency rescue equipment, including SCBA, gas detectors, rescue tripods, retrieval systems, ropes, harnesses, and stretchers.
• Maintain operational readiness by verifying the availability and serviceability of rescue equipment and emergency response resources.

Coordination and Reporting

• Coordinate effectively with the Incident Commander, Emergency Response Team, Site Medical Team, and external emergency services during emergency operations.
• Report emergency response activities, equipment deficiencies, and rescue observations, and support incident investigations where required.

Training and Preparedness

• Participate in scheduled emergency drills, rescue simulations, equipment inspections, and competency assessments to maintain operational readiness.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Higher Secondary Certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of emergency rescue experience in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, or Construction projects.
• Ideal candidate over 40 years old with minimum 10 years' experience.
• Valid certification in Emergency Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Work at Height Rescue, SCBA, and First Aid/CPR/AED.
• Medically fit for emergency response duties and SCBA use.
• Familiar with ADNOC HSE Standards, Emergency Response Procedures, and Life Saving Rules.
• ADNOC Work Experience is an added advantage; ASAD Training is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Rescue Skills

• Competent in Confined Space Rescue, Work at Height Rescue, and Technical Rescue Operations.
• Skilled in Dynamic Risk Assessment, hazard identification, and atmospheric monitoring.
• Proficient in the use of SCBA, multi-gas detectors, rescue tripod and winch systems, ropes, harnesses, stretchers, and casualty retrieval equipment.
• Competent in First Aid, CPR, AED, casualty stabilization, packaging, and patient handling techniques.
• Ability to interpret Safety Data Sheets and respond to HazMat and chemical spill emergencies.

Knowledge and Systems

• Knowledge of the Incident Command System, Emergency Response Plan, and Emergency Response Team operations.
• Familiar with Permit to Work requirements for Confined Space Entry, Work at Height, Excavation, Hot Work, and Lifting Operations.
• Knowledge of ADNOC HSE Standards, Life Saving Rules, and project emergency response procedures.

Professional Attributes

• Physically fit and capable of performing emergency rescue under demanding site conditions.
• Demonstrate effective communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills during emergency response operations.
• Knowledge of UAE traffic rules and regulations; valid UAE Driving License is mandatory.
