Role Overview

Repair & Maintenance Technician III - Intervention Services Drilling Tools at Weatherford UAE. This is a hands-on technical role based at Weatherford facilities, responsible for inspection, repair, and maintenance of field tools and drilling equipment.

Role Purpose

Undertake inspection, repair, refurbishment, and maintenance of drilling tools and field equipment using technical manuals and procedures. Prepare tools for their next assignment through a complete process spanning receiving, dismantling, cleaning, testing, repair, assembly, and storage.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations & Safety

• Participate in all daily operations and safety meetings, toolbox briefings, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) sessions.
• Report any issues promptly using appropriate tools.
• Maintain equipment, facilities, and work area in a presentable and safe working condition.

Equipment Inspection & Measurement

• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rules, callipers, micrometres, or other measuring instruments.
• Demonstrate awareness of NDT and DS Inspection practices.

Repair & Maintenance

• Repair machines, equipment, or structures using tools such as hammers, hoists, cranes, drills, wrenches, precision measuring instruments, or electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Follow maintenance processes and procedures to undertake unloading, disassembly, cleaning, pressure testing, visual checking, painting, assembly, loading, and storage of tools.
• Complete all necessary documentation as required against level of training and competence.

Documentation & Work Orders

• Initiate, update, and close out AIRTs, PFTs, forms, checklists, and work orders during maintenance of equipment and assets.
• Follow necessary maintenance processes and procedures against level of training and competence.
• Comply with WO labour time log by accurately clocking in and out of the Work Order time tracking system.

Material Handling & Logistics

• Utilise all tools and lifting equipment for opening and closing crates and containers.
• Use pallet and forklift trucks for safe movement of equipment to and from vehicles, storage areas, racks, shelves, and bins against level of training and competence.
• Maintain certification for use of lifting equipment, including forklift trucks and cranes.
• Accept incoming shipments and prepare shipments for dispatch.
• Validate quantities and ensure all necessary documentation is accurate and complies with Company procedures.

Procurement

• Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogues or approved suppliers according to Weatherford's guidelines and procedures.

Continuous Improvement

• Support and comply with LEAN initiatives.
• Participate in the continuous efficiency improvement program of the facility.
• Perform quality control analysis to ensure products meet required standards.

General Duties

• Perform other duties and activities safely as assigned by supervisor within physical constraints of the job.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma.
• 4-6+ years of Repair & Maintenance experience in Oil & Gas industry.
• Experienced in Impact Tools such as Jars, Shock Subs, Intensifier and Fishing Tools, and Downhole Tools.
• Working experience with hazardous materials.

Skills & Competencies

• Awareness of NDT and DS Inspection.
• Ability to react effectively and efficiently in operating tools and machinery.
• Strong reading and writing skills.

• Quality Control Analysis to ensure product meets required standards.
