Role Purpose
To be primarily responsible for all New Products/Services Proposal Approvals (NPPAs) received at Compliance, ensuring that all NPPAs are received, reviewed and presented to the Compliance Leadership Team (CLT) in line with NPPA Terms of Reference. The role includes providing official written and informal guidance and advice on Compliance matters to business units and support functions as required.
Key Responsibilities
Review and Guidance
- Review and advise the respective business during the initial call with Regulatory Compliance to ensure a complete and clear submission of the NPPA is maintained ahead of CLT call.
- Conduct detailed review on NPPAs from Regulatory Compliance perspective, including reference to applicable regulations, notices, and requirements, as well as previous Compliance approvals and precedents.
- Provide timely reviews and advice on Regulatory Compliance related matters to business units.
Tracking and Escalation
- Track action items and conditions arising from NPPA Review and CLT meetings, following up with business and NPPA leads to ensure timely closure.
- Escalate overdue items to the Senior Manager as needed.
Reporting and Communication
- Provide the Senior Management - Regulatory Advisory with feedback, information of sufficient accuracy, detail, quality, context, and relevance.
- Provide translation for documents received in Arabic from the regulators.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Any additional relevant compliance qualifications, certifications, or courses.
- At least 4 to 6 years' experience, of which at least 3 to 4 years in a Regulatory Compliance role.
- Banking experience.
- Good understanding of CBUAE and SCA Regulations.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of banking products and related procedures.
- Good written and oral skills.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of management.
- Stakeholder management including negotiation and influencing skills.
