Role Overview

Registrar of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Taiba Hospital. Reporting to Head of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Job Code: OBGYN-003, Grade: R.

Role Purpose

Deliver safe, timely clinical care across inpatient, outpatient, labor room, and theatre settings. Partner with Consultants to achieve optimal outcomes for mothers and women's health while maintaining zero gaps in clinical assessment, documentation, and escalation.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Management

• Deliver care for patients across outpatient department, wards, labor room, and theatre environments under Consultant support.
• Manage deliveries independently, from routine to urgent cases, with appropriate escalation when clinically indicated.
• Assist in surgical procedures, including laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, with precision and care.
• Guide patients through pre-operative to post-operative periods with compassionate clinical excellence.
• Demonstrate sound judgment and clinical skill in managing high-risk cases with early escalation.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate, thorough, and compliant patient records at every stage of care.
• Uphold Taiba Hospital policies, Ministry of Health regulations, and ethical practice standards consistently.

Collaboration & Team Leadership

• Collaborate warmly and effectively with Consultants, nurses, midwives, anesthetists, and allied staff.
• Strengthen team cohesion to keep patients safe and supported throughout their clinical journey.

Quality & Improvement

• Participate in audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and improvement initiatives that raise clinical standards.
• Champion quality outcomes through attention to detail, safety protocols, and compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

• MBBS or equivalent qualification.
• Master's in Obstetrics & Gynecology from recognized institutions.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on post-Master's experience in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Proven experience managing deliveries, outpatient department care, and assisting in surgical procedures.
• Solid grasp of obstetric emergencies, endoscopic procedures, and perioperative protocols.
