Role Overview
Registered Nurse – OPD at NMC Healthcare. The post holder will work collaboratively with other team members, uphold and live the NMC Nursing Strategy in order to provide safe and outstanding care to their patients and patient's bystanders, all the time, every time.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment and Planning
- Perform systematic patient assessment, re-assessment and collection of pertinent data about the patient's health or situation.
- Understand and analyze the assessment information and data.
- Determine actual and potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues.
- Define the predicted and expected outcomes of the patient's planned care.
- Create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team, in collaboration with the patient and patient's bystanders.
- Prepare patients for medical examination and treatment.
Clinical Care Delivery
- Provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.
- Assess and identify patients' needs and implement and monitor the patient's medical plan and treatment.
- Record vital signs, recognize, address and escalate all abnormalities.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for any side effects and reactions.
- Administer treatments such as IV fluids or blood products and monitor patients for any reactions.
- Provide wound care management.
- Handle and monitor patients with medical devices, Foley catheters, nasogastric tubes, or those receiving total parenteral nutrition and enteral feeding through tubes.
Emergency Response and Life Support
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, or sudden deterioration.
- Provide immediate intervention and escalate if necessary.
- Perform essential life support as per regulatory requirements and scope such as but not limited to Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation.
Procedures and Technical Care
- Understand different diagnostic tests and laboratory examinations.
- Assist in medical procedures, invasive or non-invasive, as needed.
- Facilitate the process of safe patient admission, transfer, and discharge.
Professional Development and Practice
- Maintain and update technical and clinical skills related to nursing practice.
- Employ strategies to promote patients' health and a safe environment.
Team and Interprofessional Collaboration
- Work with a team of physicians and other health care specialists or allied health in various settings.
Qualifications & Experience
- Hold an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority with all qualifications and experience these mandate.
- Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
Skills & Competencies
- Clear and effective communication in English (spoken and written).
- Ability to manage own professional re-licensure.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Arabic (desirable).
- Evidenced ability to work as part of an inter-professional team (desirable).
- Organizational and administrative skills with which to use the electronic medical record platform for clinical documentation (desirable).
