Registered Nurse - Mudon Clinic (ENT Clinic)

Role Overview

Registered Nurse at King's College Hospital London, Mudon Clinic (ENT Clinic). This position provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in an outpatient facility setting.

Role Purpose

To deliver high-standard evidence-based nursing care to patients in the outpatient clinic, assisting with examinations and procedures, administering medications, performing diagnostic tests, and developing patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Care Planning

• Assess children's needs and provide initial care.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patients' needs on an ongoing basis.
• Work with children, ask questions about their health for diagnosis, and document patients' symptoms and medical history for the doctor.

Clinical Procedures & Medication Management

• Administer medications, draw blood, and give childhood vaccinations following age-appropriate guidelines.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Operate and monitor medical equipment as necessary.
• Respond to life-saving situations in line with nursing standards and protocol.

Monitoring & Vital Signs

• Monitor temperature, pulse, breathing, and blood pressure, ensuring accurate record-keeping.

Patient Safeguarding & Welfare

• Evaluate children for signs and symptoms of abuse and escalate concerns as appropriate.
• Have due regard for each patient's cultural and religious beliefs, respecting privacy, dignity, gender, and sexuality.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Maintain confidentiality of all organizational, patient, client, and employee information in accordance with policies and laws.

Patient & Family Communication

• Ensure patients and their relatives are updated regularly with accurate and sensitive information.
• Deal with the anxieties and demands of parents and help families cope with their child's illness or injury.
• Support patients, caretakers, and relatives, involving them in care where appropriate.
• Provide health education to promote healthy lifestyles.

Qualifications & Experience

• UAE Medical Health Authority License (DHA).
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or Degree in Nursing (minimum two years course duration).
• Registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in a hospital or similar setting.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficient in basic computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to manage digital documentation and communication effectively.
